There is a series floating around on blogs lately called 12 Things. I have seen it on a few blogs including Amber Fillerup and Aspyn Ovard. You basically just write 12 things, anything you want. I don’t know if this will be a weekly thing for me, lets be honest I’m not that interesting. I just thought it would be fun to do every once in a while. If you have any other ideas of different series I can do on the blog, let me know!

Summer to Fall Transition

While it has been Fall for a few weeks now, it is still very hot in Arizona. We seem to get Fall a little later than everyone else. I cannot wait to start wearing boots and jackets. This is hands down, my favorite time of year. Just because the seasons are changing, doesn't mean you have to swap out your whole wardrobe. Here are my top 5 tips for transitioning from Summer to Fall.

I have really dry and dehydrated skin, and it has the tendency to get flaky in certain areas of my face. It’s a struggle to find skincare that is very moisturizing, and that also doesn’t fade freckles. I have been using this product a little over a week as part of both my morning and evening routine. I haven’t been exfoliating, and in that week this is the only product I used to wash my face.

Top Homeware Picks This Month!

Lately, I've been really obsessed with homeware. After breaking my ankle, I spent a lot of time on Pinterest and most of the items I pinned were homeware. Now that I can hobble around (read about my journey here and here!), I've been going through different rooms of our house, one-by-one, getting rid of things that we really just don't need anymore and organizing what we've decided to keep. We tend to have the habit of holding on to useless things.

I feel like I have only just begun to get a sense of my home-style and am ready to start decorating. We have moved around a ton! This is the first place that has really felt like home, and the first place that I actually want to start hanging some stuff on the walls! I have a more clean, minimalist sense of style. I don't like too much clutter and I like items that serve a purpose. As I search for items to decorate my house, I thought I would share some of my favorite items I have found!

Life Update: I'm Healed!

I wanted this to be my next post, so unfortunately it has been awhile since I have posted! 

I broke my fibula on the 22nd of May. I went to my orthopedic doctor this week, had x-rays, and found out that I am completely healed. He said that he likes the way everything healed and didn’t see any signs of arthritis in my ankle. I was using the ASO ankle brace and found that it was causing some bruising on my foot. After telling the orthopedic doctor this, he gave me an ankle compression sleeve with gel padding on both sides of the ankle for support. This has made such a huge difference in the way my ankle feels. It also makes my shoes fit better.

They have a great mix of not only summer stuff, but also items you can wear as summer turns into fall. The sale isn’t just discounted stuff that didn’t sell from last season, it also includes new releases for fall. With back to school coming up, the Nordstrom sale is perfect timing.

I'm Moving Into A Bullet Journal!

I’ve been using an Erin Condren Life Planner for the last three years. I never thought I would ever not use an Erin Condren Life Planner. After months of seeing nothing but bullet journals all over the blogging world and Pinterest, I tried really hard not to go down the rabbit hole. Not to get sucked into the hype. I bought my first Bullet Journal from Amazon a few weeks ago.

Life Update: Where I've Been

If you hadn’t noticed, I haven’t posted in a bit. I’ve been posting updates on Twitter and Instagram about what’s been going on, but if you don’t follow me there you might not know. So let’s back up a couple weeks.

My husband's birthday was on the 21st of May. One of his best friends, who is basically his brother, came to visit for his birthday. My husband didn’t want to go all out, even though he was turning 30, but he did want a fun weekend just the three of us. And that is exactly what happened. We took him around to all our favorite places in Phoenix and Scottsdale, but mostly had a relaxing weekend. The last day that his friend was here, a Monday, we went out to lunch before going to take him to the airport. Coming out of lunch, I must have stepped off the curb wrong, but all I remember was hearing a snap and I was on the ground.

I have freckles and since I know it’s only a matter of time before they fade naturally, I try not to use any products that will reduce them quicker.

Pass the Remote | Midseason 2017

Pass The Remote series is something I do about three times a year: Fall, Mid-season, and Summer. I love books, but they aren’t the only thing I love. I love checking out the new shows that are airing, seeing if there is anything good that I can add to my long list of TV series'. I am a little picky, so I don't watch every pilot, just the ones that I think I'll be interested in.

  There wasn’t a ton of shows premiering Midseason that I was interested in. As it turned out the shows I was interested in, didn’t really work out for me. One I liked more than the others, I put it in the ‘in love with’ section, and the rest were just kind of meh. I’m not actually too disappointed because I watch way too many TV shows. Maybe, someday soon, I'll do a post on all of the TV shows I watch.
