Eye Accents: Precision Mascara & Clear Brow Gel | Pixi + Aspyn Ovard

Sunday, March 26, 2017

In the Pixi + Aspyn Ovard Collection, the Eye Accents duo comes with a Precision Mascara, Lower Lash Mascara, and Brow Tamer, Clear Brow Gel. You can get the Precision Mascara on its own, but it is sold at the same price as the duo.

The Precision Mascara comes with a specially designed slim wand to coat all of the lashes on the lower lash line while minimizing smudges . The Lower Lash Mascara only comes in one shade, Black.

The Brow Tamer promises to be the perfect finishing touch to any brow look, defining and shaping instantly. It is formulated with aloe vera and panthenol to condition brow hairs, giving your brows a more natural look.

This is my first lower lash mascara, therefore I have nothing to compare it to. However, it’s the perfect size for your lower lashes! On the outer corner of my eye I have annoying little lashes that point straight out the side of my eye, usually I just don’t put mascara there. With this lower lash mascara, I am able to easily comb through and coat my lower lashes, even those pesky sideways ones!

I’m not a huge fan of the formula of the Lower Lash Mascara. I don’t typically wear waterproof mascara, but using my normal mascara on my lower lashes smudged less that this mascara by Pixi. I did really like the size of the brush. It worked great in separating and coating my lower lashes, as well as minimizing smudging during application. The Lower Lash Mascara has good staying power, although it does smudge throughout the day. As the weather gets hotter, this might not be the best mascara to wear out and about in the heat.

I tried my first clear brow gel at the end of last year, the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel. One of the things I dislike about brow gel is how crispy your eyebrows feel once everything sets. Fortunately, that isn't the case with the Brow Tamer by Pixi. This brow gel gives a soft and natural. My brows still feel soft once it sets, there is not crispy feeling at all.

The only thing I dislike about the Brow Tamer is how fat the brush is. If you are not careful, it can get a little messy. I prefer a brush the size of the Benefit Gimmie Brow when it comes to brow products. If the brush is smaller, it is easier to be more precise.

I still want to try some other lower lash mascara’s. Hopefully, I will find one that has a little more of a smudge proof formula.

Have you tried a lower lash mascara before? If so, what do you think about them? If not, which ones are you interested in trying for yourself? What about a clear brow gel?
