My skin has been very dry and dehydrated the last year. I don’t know if it is because of the dry desert air, or if it’s something else. I am also very picky as to what I put on my skin. I have freckles and since I know it’s only a matter of time before they fade naturally, I try not to use any products that will reduce them quicker.
The Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream claims to keep skin moisturized for 24-hours after use, immediately improve skin radiance, enhance skin brightness and clarity, and improve elasticity. It is formulated with Fresh’s proprietary Super 7 Complex—an age-defying, hydrating, and radiance-boosting blend of seven super-charged ingredients to defend against wrinkles, preserve collagen, promote the production of hyaluronic acid, seal in moisture, and soften the skin.
First of all, I love all of the Fresh packaging. The transparent glass bottle is heavy and substantial, and you can tell they put a lot of effort into making their products look amazing. With that said, I kind of wish it wasn’t in a pot. I’m trying to find more products that I don’t have to stick my fingers into. For now, I am using a little spatula I received with a Shiseido product.
The Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream has a light creamy consistency, not too heavy — but not too light either. It spreads easily and absorbs into my skin quickly. There isn’t any greasy or oily residue. When first applied, it soaks into my skin almost instantly. Even at room temperature, the cream has cool calming effect. I love the subtle fresh cucumber smell!
It is priced at $45 before-tax. In the skincare world, I would say this is in the middle. Keep in mind, that I don’t mind splurging on skincare products. What might be reasonable for me, might not be for others. Another thing to keep in mind is that there is no SPF. I use this over my Clarins UV PLUS Anti-Pollution Broad Spectrum SPF 50 (Review to come!) during the day. I find that it still works just as well as it does alone in the evening.
I love how lightweight this product is and how it works well with any season! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with dry skin that wants some anti-aging properties as well. I think it’s great for those in their mid-twenties to thirties. I have used a couple of pots of this so far, and I will continue to re-purchase it.
