I'm Moving Into A Bullet Journal!

Sunday, June 18, 2017

I’ve been using an Erin Condren Life Planner for the last three years. I never thought I would ever not use an Erin Condren Life Planner. After months of seeing nothing but bullet journals all over the blogging world and Pinterest, I tried really hard not to go down the rabbit hole. Not to get sucked into the hype. I bought my first Bullet Journal from Amazon a few weeks ago.

There are still things about the Life Planner that I do like and miss, but I find that Bullet Journaling fits my life more. There is more freedom with a Bullet Journal than with a Life Planner. The options for a Bullet Journal are endless. There are so many different brands and colors to choose from. There is a choice between lines, grid, dotted, and plain. As well as, hardcover or soft cover.

I decided to purchase the Leuchtturm Hard Cover Notebook A5 Medium Dotted in Navy Blue. I thought that the dotted pages would be the best for me and allowed me the freedom I wanted, but with the dots to keep everything on a grid. I thought about getting black, but decided to get the navy blue at the last minute and I am so glad I did. I also like that the Leuchtturm Notebook lays flat. It makes planning and doodling so much easier than the Life Planner with its coil.

I purchased the Staedler Pigment Liner set of 6 Liners. They come in 0.05mm, 0.1mm, 0.2mm, 0.3mm, 0.5mm, and 0.8mm. The Staedler pens come in a stand up easel case, which comes in handy for day-to-day planning. They have waterproof, smear free ink, and they don’t try out easily. They also don’t bleed through the pages of the Leuchtturm Notebook. I also purchased the Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen 2 Pens Set. The set has both a soft tip and hard tip pen. The pens have a flexible brush tip and are perfect for lettering and calligraphy. You can create fin or medium strokes with just a change of brush pressure.

I’m really enjoying my set-up so far, although I am noticing a few things that I do want to change in future spreads. I will do a post soon on how I set up my spread. I wrote a post about breaking my ankle a couple weeks ago, it has mad blogging a bit hard as I am non-weight barring. It makes it almost impossible to take good photos.
