Monthly Favorites | September 2014

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

It was very easy for me to come up with my favorites for the month of September. These are things that I have literally used everyday, all month long. And I couldn't not add a book, we all know how much I read. I think the hardest thing to choose was a book. I had such a hard time narrowing it down to just one! Check out what I loved this month...

LancĂ´me Teint Miracle Foundation. This stuff looks dark in the picture, but I'm actually quiet fair. I love how this makes my skin look. It's definitely one of my favorite foundations. I also love how it looks mixed with a bit of moisturizer as a sort of tinted moisturizer. It does oxidize a bit, but it isn't a problem for me.

Sephora Velvet Eyeshadow in the shade Sweet Champagne. My first cream shadow and I love it. I love wearing it on its own with some eyeliner in my tight-line and mascara. It’s perfect for a natural look. Plus, it lasts all day and is smudge proof!

MAC lipstick in the shade Ravishing. This lipstick is a cremesheen, so it isn't very drying. It's coming off more pink on my lips in the picture than it does in real life. Ravishing is a softer peach color that is perfect for the end of Summer/beginning of Fall!

Clarins UV Plus HP Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Sunscreen Multi-Protection. Well, that's a mouthful. I live in the desert, so a good SPF is important. However, a lot of them have a particular scent to them that I just can't stand. I tried a few before getting to this one and I don't think I will ever get anything else.

Kind Bar: Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt. I have a love hate with nutty bars. This is the first one I have tried that I actually love. They are great for an afternoon snack and taste so good! I just hate that they only come in a box of four!

Calvin Klein Mascara. I got this from Ulta as this years birthday gift. I wasn't sure about it at first, but I ended up loving it. You can use it as a regular want for length, or twist the end for more volume. I mostly use it un-twisted. I love how long it makes my lashes look!

Tangle Teezer. A bit of a random favorite, but I am new to the Tangle Teezer. I have really fine hair, but a lot of it so it gets really tangled easily. I haven't used any other brush since picking this one up!

This Is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith. I really loved this book. It is sweet and adorable. The emails between Ellie and Graham were one of my favorite parts. The book starts off with their first email exchanges to several months later. Once the actual chapters start, there aren’t as many emails emails, but you still get a couple in-between the chapters. I loved seeing these interactions between the main characters. There wasn’t a ton of action or twists and turns, but it put a smile on my face. I did like the ending, despite it being kind of vague. Everything wasn’t tied up in a happy little bow, but it was still a good ending to the story.
