Monthly Favorites | August 2014

Wednesday, September 17, 2014

Since I went to Florida to see my sister (check out my trip here), this is going up a little late. Not only was I traveling but it also took me awhile to get this blog looking how I wanted it, so it made my August Favorites have to go up a little late. I don't have a ton of favorites this month, but here are some of the things I loved...

NYX Butter Gloss in Peach Cobbler. I am not typically a fan of lip gloss. The last lip gloss I bought was about 5 years ago from Dior and I didn’t really care for it because it was so sticky. I noticed a ton of people talking about the NYX Butter Glosses so I knew I had to try it! My lips are on the dryer side and this stuff is amazing. I love how creamy and moisturizing it is. And the smell!

Sinful Colors Nail Polish in the shade Endless Blue. I have learned that not all of the shades have a great formula. Most of them come off pretty sheer and streaky. But a few of them are really nice, so you just have to know what to look for. I used two coats in the picture (excuse my crappy nails), which is pretty standard for me in nail polishes no matter what the brand. I love the color. This cobalt blue color is one of my favorites to have on my nails!

Fossil Rose Gold Watch. I’ve always loved Fossil watches, and rose gold is my favorite. When I was in Florida visiting my sister with my mom, we did a ton of shopping. We went into a Nordstrom Rack where I found this one. It isn’t a chunky watch, but more feminine. And did I mention it’s rose gold!

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in the brightening shade. I haven’t been wearing a lot of make-up this month, and this as been one of my go to items when running out the door. I love the brightening shade because it’s a pinker tone and covers up dark circles. It is not only brightening, but moisturizing as well.

Vaseline Intensive Care aloe soothe lotion. I am always on the hunt for a good moisturizer and I can be quiet picky. A year ago, I had been traveling a lot and ended up with a tiny bit of eczema. I had never really been picky about moisturizer and didn’t actually use it on a daily basis. A few months ago I found this stuff. This lotion is great for dry skin, my skin soaks it right up. It is very moisturizing, without feeling thick on your skin. I put it on in the morning after a shower, and it lasts all day!

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. I really loved this book. I loved the writing, I loved reading about Anna’s experience of being sent to a boarding school in a country where she didn’t even speak the language. I thought the friendship that developed between Anna and St. Clair happened so naturally. They built a solid friendship, all while trying to bury any feelings between them.
